You Cant Change the Past

First off, sorry that I haven't blogged much recently. It hasn't been for lack of want to I just felt that I needed to take a little break from it. I'm back! I have been doing great! My weight loss has leveled, however I have definitely lost a lot of fat. I feel stronger, my pants are all baggy, things are all going in the right direction! Although I miss eating all the junk food the world has to offer I feel great that I am actively changing my life for the better. I am proud of all of my friends and family who have begun to improve their own health and attitudes. Special shout out to my father, Rafael, who has lost 10 pounds the past 2 weeks by eating clean!! I had talked to him about it before and his "excuse" was that he had too much going on. I jokingly/seriously said to him "What does having too much going on have to do with eating that burger without a bun instead of with it". He gave me the oh shit you are right look and hasn't looked back! I am so very proud of everything my father does on a daily basis and I couldn't be more grateful to have such an amazing role model in my life. Best thing about my dad is, he isn't just my dad and a great role model but he is truly my best friend. Love you Pops!!!

So a good friend of mine let me borrow Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (A screenplay based on a new story by JK Rowling). First off it was amazing. I wont do any spoilers for those who have not had a chance to read it but man.... IT WAS AWESOME! So I finished reading it today and I wanted to talk about some of the themes in the book. One of the characters gets a hold of whats called a time turner. A time turner allows the user to go back in time. Simple enough. The problem is when they go back in time everything that they change can literally change the whole world , think butterfly effect. It had me thinking about my own life. It had me thinking about what if I had a time turner. What would I change? How would it change everything around me? Would I still have the same friends? Would I have the same job? What would change? As I began to travel down this rabbit hole I began to realize that this simply reinforces something that I have been trying to recognize daily. Everything we do has consequences both good and bad. If you missed a turn on the way to the mall, and it took you an extra 5 minutes to get there what would change? You would come across different people, maybe even a different employee at the store you decide to shop at, but everything, everything would be slightly different. So now lets step back and look at it with a decision that you actively make. I don't know about you, but for me, I have a fight with my snooze button....every morning.... without fail. By waking up just a little later than normal I then rush to get ready and I head into work. Since I left late I roll into work just 2 or 3 minutes late instead of 10 minutes early.... What does this change? For me I get a random assortment of calls and because of this delay my entire day is different. Maybe I would make more sales maybe less sales who knows, but it would be different.

OK, so most of you are probably wondering how this effects you. What if you smiled at that nice lady at the gas station instead of being angry she is taking too long at the register? She sees you smile and thinks to herself "I should text my dad and check in on him". So now her day is different, her dad's day is different, everything is different and you...yes you... were the cause. I challenge you all to make active and deliberate choices all day everyday. Realize that everything you do gives you an opportunity to change the world for good and for bad. By actively making choices you can create a positive world around you. So if you have a bad day at work leave it at work don't bring it home and allow it to change others paths. If you have a great day then spread it along, help build up others around you with your positive energy. Good vibes are the only currency you can deposit into a bank (the world) and withdraw more than you ever put in. We all have choices everyday and I urge each and everyone of you to make active positive choices. Lets Change the World!

Love yall!!
